A Pedagogical Chatbot: A Supplemental Language Learning Tool

This innovations in practice article introduces a chatbot that was developed to support and motivate second language learners during the COVID-19 pandemic. The designed facilitate active, out-of-class learning supplement in-class input. It can adapt learners’ abilities pace by chatting with them, thus providing differentiated instruction. I describe rationale for development implementation of its pedagogical implications. My aim is assist developers teachers designing implementing chatbots will enhance motivation independent students.
